Find Your Ring Size at Home

At Factory Direct Jewelry, we believe sizing should be simple. You don’t need fancy tools to find your perfect fit — just a few household items. Use the method that works best for you, and match your measurement to our chart.

Method 1: The String or Paper Test

What you’ll need:

  • A strip of paper, string, or floss
  • A pen
  • A ruler (millimeters are best)

Steps:

  1. Wrap the paper or string around the base of your finger.
  2. Mark the point where the ends overlap.
  3. Lay it flat and measure the length in millimeters.
  4. Compare the number to our size chart to find your ring size.

Method 2: Measure a Ring You Already Own

What you’ll need:

  • A ruler or caliper
  • A ring that fits comfortably

Steps:

  1. Place your ring on a flat surface.
  2. Measure the inside diameter straight across in millimeters.
  3. Match that measurement to the chart below.

Method 3: Use Our Printable Ring Sizer

What you’ll need:

  • A printer (set to 100% scale)
  • Scissors

Steps:

  1. Print our FDJ Ring Sizer & Chart.
  2. Cut along the outline to create a paper sizer.
  3. Wrap the paper around your finger and read the number that lines up.

FDJ Sizing Tips

  • Evening is best. Fingers are slightly larger at the end of the day, so measure then for accuracy.
  • Think about width. Wider bands fit tighter — size up by half a size for anything over 4mm wide.
  • Knuckle vs. base. If your knuckle is bigger, measure both and choose a size in between.
  • When in doubt, size up. It’s easier to adjust a ring that’s a little loose than one that’s too tight.

How a Ring Should Fit

The perfect fit slides over your knuckle with a little resistance and rests snugly without pinching. You should be able to take it off without struggle — but it shouldn’t slip off too easily.
