How to wear Claddagh rings

Posted by AC on 8th Jul 2014

Why are Claddagh rings very popular? Because it goes beyond the ordinary expression of true love. I, for one, am also fascinated with Claddagh rings because of its rich history and the symbol it carries.

Claddagh rings are commonly used in Irish tradition as wedding rings as it connotes a love that is loyal and eternal. However, it could be worn in different ways:

  • Single - If the Claddagh ring is worn on the right hand with the heart pointing toward the fingertips, it means that the person is single and looking for love or a relationship.
  • In a Relationship - If it is worn on the right hand with the heart pointing toward the wrist, it means that the person is already taken or in a relationship.
  • Engaged – If it is worn on the left hand with the heart pointing toward the fingertips, it means that the person is engaged.
  • Married - If it is worn on the left hand with the heart pointing toward the wrist, the person is already married.

Claddagh rings could also be worn as a friendship ring or best friends forever ring. They are worn to symbolize a strong bond between friends. The two hands holding a heart depict the agreement to stay honest and loyal with each other. Another way to wear Claddagh rings is as a promise ring. It represents the pact between lovers to fulfill and stay true to their commitment.

Our rings feature an impeccable style, and they are all individually crafted and hand polished to ensure that they are all of high quality. Let me show you some of the best-selling rings from our Claddagh jewelry collection:

Available in 10k and 14k gold, this unisex Claddagh ring shows a traditional and classic style that has a sleek design.

This ladies’ gold Claddagh ring has a touch of Celtic style as its ring band features the trinity knots. I specifically liked this ring because it incorporated the concept of the trinity, which made the ring more meaningful and romantic. It is also available in white gold.
